Product Description
Acid oil is an oily material rich in free fatty
acids and is produced by acidulation of soap
stock comes out during vegetable oil refining
process.
Product Application
Acid oil is widely used by soap manufacturers
for laundry and toilet soaps. Acid Oil may also
be used for making oleo chemicals viz. Fatty
Alcohols- Produced by hydrogenation of fatty
acids and which may be used in manufacturing the
surfactants, Metallic soaps- By treating with
metallic hydroxides viz. Calcium Soap For animal
feed, Lithium Soap For heavy duty lubricants and
Potassium Soap For liquid soaps. Other Metallic
Soap For mould release agents and lubricants.
The Acid Oil is also used in manufacturing Fatty
Acid Esters by esterification of fatty acids for
use in cosmetics. Its ethoxylation provides
ethoxylated fatty acids which is used as
emulsifiers in cosmetics, similarly the Fatty
Amines can also be obtained by treating the Acid
Oil with amines for use as foam stabilizers and
water repellants.
